Carrier Sales Representative - Broker

This Salt Lake City based sales position is responsible for developing long term, mutually beneficial relationships with the thousands of trucking companies that keep Network Transport customers’ freight going where it needs to go on time and intact. It is heavy phone work, but you will be making consequential decisions. We are not selling magazine subscriptions; every day will present different challenges. Our reps make millions of dollars worth of independent decisions each year. You need to bring a “be of service” attitude each day. Trucking companies depend on us to keep them moving and get them paid fairly and promptly. Weather, data errors, and countless other complex issues involved in moving freight will create challenges.

Responsibilities:

As part of our brokerage sales team, you will work closely with our extensive network of carriers, as well as develop new relationships focusing on improving efficiency and managing transportation costs. You will be responsible for taking a proactive approach in mastering the pricing and capacity fluctuations in the truckload shipping market.

  • Source and procure carrier services to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of customer freight
  • Establish deep and mutually rewarding relationships with carriers to expand capacity opportunities
  • Negotiate rates with carriers on a spot or transactional basis
  • Work effectively with your sales and operations colleagues at Network Transport in order to provide a seamless efficient experience to our customers.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in carrier sales / brokerage
  • Driven and competitive nature with impressive negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Quick learner who is successful at multi-tasking
  • Willing to constantly look for ways to improve performance

Accounts Receivable Collections Clerk

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

We are looking for a skilled accounts receivable collections clerk to be responsible for invoicing customers timely and accurately, ensure timely collections of those invoices, manage the AR aging report and be a contact point for customer billing and invoicing troubleshooting.

Responsibilities: 

  • Generate invoices and send them to customers through various channels (mail, email, etc.)
  • Review and evaluate the status of customer accounts
  • Daily collection activities including making and receiving collection inquiries both via email and telephone
  • Communicating with past due customers to resolve outstanding balances as necessary
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
  • Serving as the point person for customer and internal cross-functional inquiries and requests around billing and collection issues
  • Post cash daily to the system and make sure to resolve any issues promptly
  • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure we are billing all the appropriate items correctly
  • Help manage our internal customer credit limits to make sure we are doing business with good paying customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

  • Position requires a thorough understanding of accounts receivable including collection policies
  • Procedures, best practices and knowledge of financial transaction processing
  • Basic accounting procedures and concepts
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as take direction from management (work collaboratively in a team environment)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Transportation/Logistics experience preferred
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • 2-3 years’ experience with accounts receivable and collections

Logistics Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative tracks loads, updates customer websites, and schedule appointments using the McLeod Transportation Management System. The candidate will communicate effectively with both internal and external customers via written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively communicate with Driver Management and Load Planners to resolve issues that may arise with a driver’s work assignment
  • Manage customer scorecards to ensure we are meeting their minimum requirements
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments and takes care of any reschedules needed
  • Technically proficient in network dispatch tools
  • Handles all OS&D issues for customer accounts
  • Codes all late loads accordingly
  • Updates all EDI error status
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Track loads and communicates to customers the status of their shipment

Requirements:

  • Advanced technical/computer skills with the ability to use multiple programs simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic, with a professional, positive attitude
  • Creative problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Transportation, supply chain, or logistic experience a plus
  • Experience with McLeod TMS a plus
